Senior Information and Assistance (Senior I & A) is the recognized gateway for information and advocacy for older adults in Snohomish County. Senior Information and Assistance Specialists staff maintain a computerized database of more than 850 programs and services that can be accessed through a single telephone call. Senior Information and Assistance is the formal intake point for the Snohomish County Case Management and Respite Programs. Senior Information and Assistance also makes referrals for State Funded Long Term Care services through DSHS Home and Community Services. Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish and Tagalog speaking staff provide outreach and information services to the Chinese, Korean, Southeast Asian, Hispanic and Filipino communities. We also have the AT&T Language Line available to assist with callers who speak other languages.

  • The Senior Source, is our printed resouce guide to services in Snohomish County, updated in May of each year. For your free copy of the Senior Source call Senior I & A at 425-513-1900 or Toll Free, 1-800-422-2024.
  • Resource Lists are available on a variety of topics (i.e., nursing homes, subsidized housing, retirement homes, home care services, adult day care/respite, senior centers, utility discounts)
  • Updates on Adult Family Homes, Flu shot sites, AARP Tax Assistance Sites, etc.

Assistance with Accessing Services...

  • In-depth assessment by phone to determine client needs and, if appropriate, refer to other community services or programs
  • Phone consultation for family members (or other involved persons)
  • Assistance by phone to help older adults receive appropriate benefits and services
  • Pre-screening for the Snohomish County Respite Program (18+)
  • A contact point for referrals to DSHS - Home and Community Services for people who may need state-funded in-home services.
  • Eligibility screening for the Snohomish County Case Management Program (60+)
  • Gatekeeper Program (PUD, Local Banks, GTE)
