Older Adult Mental Health Access

Good mental health helps us enjoy life to its fullest. Untreated mental health challenges can lead to poor health and a lower quality of life. Many older adults struggle with challenges that can contribute to depression or other mental health concerns.

Common issues facing older adults include medical conditions such as chronic illness and pain, major life transitions such as retirement and downsizing, and loss of loved ones through death or divorce.

There is help - you don't have to go it alone! The Older Adult Mental Health Access program helps Snohomish County residents age 60+ access mental health and chemical dependency services.

Geriatric Depression Screening

Depression is an illness that affects a person’s body, moods and thoughts. It is nothing to be ashamed of and is not a sign of weakness.

Depression is treatable. It often goes undiagnosed and untreated, resulting in months or years of disability that might have been avoided. We aim to change that!

Homage Senior Services offers a unique program to provide outreach and early intervention to seniors who may suffer from depression. We work with Snohomish County residents 60+ who live in non-institutional settings. Services include education, depression screening, follow-up consultations, referral, advocacy and short-term counseling support.

Senior Peer Counseling

The Senior Peer Counseling program offers confidential, no-cost counseling services to Snohomish County seniors, age 60+, who are experiencing challenges associated with aging.

Volunteer peer counselors are older adults themselves who understand your unique needs as a senior. They meet with you in your own home on a weekly basis to offer support for such issues as caregiver stress, loss of loved ones, coping with chronic pain or illness, isolation from family or friends, and other life changes or losses.
