The Fall Prevention Coalition of Snohomish County

Our society does not realize the serious consequences and costs associated with falls, nor the tremendous number of seniors that experience falls.
The statistics are sobering:
  • 1 in 3 persons age 65 and over will fall
  • 1 in 10 falls will result in a serious injury
  • Seniors who fall are 3 times as likely to fall again
Unfortunately, the State of Washington has one of the highest recorded number of falls nationally. Falling is not a fact of the aging process. While we cannot turn back the hands of time, we can take steps to stay active and independent by preventing falls. By making some changes the chances of falling can be greatly reduced.
