The Snohomish County Vulnerable Adult Abuse Task Force will host a conference targeted to law enforcement, healthcare providers, and social service professionals to increase awareness and give professionals the tools to better respond to crimes, exploitation, and abuse of vulnerable adults in Snohomish County.
The conference has scheduled workshops on powers of attorney and guardianships, prosecution of elder abuse, signs of neglect, financial crimes and exploitation. There are two panel discussions planned, “Working Together with Difficult Cases” presented by Adult Protective Services, Alzheimer’s Association, Snohomish County Mental Health and Law Enforcement and “Hoarding Cases: Where to Begin” presented by Snohomish Health District, Adult Protective Services, Edmonds Code Enforcement.
Bob Blancato, Coordinator of the Elder Justice Coalition, will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Christine Fordyce will provide vital information on Elder Abuse from the Healthcare perspective.
