Powerful Tools for Caregivers
This free six-week series is for anyone providing unpaid support to an adult with care needs or a chronic condition, such as Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or cancer. It also offers peer support and opportunities to learn from each other.
Participants will develop their own personalized action plans and goals, and discuss a variety of topics including:

strategies to reduce stress;

how to communicate effectively with other family members, medical and service providers;

tools to increase confidence in handling difficult situations and tough decisions;

the importance of self-care; and
-
how to reduce feelings of guilt, anger and depression.
The six consecutive sessions will be held on Wednesdays, 2:30-5 p.m., starting February 15. Class will be held at the Lynnwood Fire Station 14 meeting room, 18800 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
